About The Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, one of the six founding departments of Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus, since its inception in 2011 has played a leading role in providing a modular and structured “Engineering Science”- based curriculum to students by imparting quality technical education through its Innovative teaching methods, experienced and well-qualified faculty members and state-of-the art infrastructural facilities.

The Department has provided myriad of opportunities for students to contribute engineering and scientific advancements and knowledge to the society throughout the national, international and beyond reach. GGSES Mechanical Engineers have stood at the forefront in tackling day-to-day as well as complex Engineering challenges, inventing new technologies, spawning new technologies and educating future generations in industrial as well as academic levels.

The current streams of study in the department includes Solid Mechanics & Design, Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences, Material Science & Manufacturing Technology, Automation & Robotics, Mechanical Measurements & Control and Industrial Management.

Each year, special training on computer-based design software like ANSYS and Solid Modeling are organized within the department. Moreover, industrial visit to reputed industries are also organized for all students of mechanical engineering. Our students and faculty members are involved in projects that aims to provide engineering solutions to everyday global challenges. Our research-active faculty members take a real interest in providing the best and up-to-date technical education possible. This is reflected in the increasing number of Mechanical Graduates qualifying for GATE, PSUs etc as well as taking the opportunity of Campus Placements.

Objectives of the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus, Chas, Bokaro strives to be globally recognised for imparting a quality engineering education so as to make students competent and well-versed in disciplinary depth and breadth together with a zeal to tackle every technical as well as professional obstacles effectively and inculcating the characteristics of entrepreneurship and Confidence within them.

Academics

Perhaps, the most diverse and versatile of all the Engineering disciplines available, Mechanical Engineering encompasses elements of virtually all streams of technology, from physical sciences and Mathematics to Aerodynamics, Material Science Engineering, Production and Manufacturing Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering as well as Software Engineering.

This broadness of the Mechanical Engineering degree offers a wide array of career possibilities – which not only include the traditional Manufacturing, Aerospace and Automobile Industries but also in the emerging areas of Robotics, Energy Systems, Nuclear Energy, Biomedical Engineering etc.

Faculty Details

Faculty Members in the department, 15 in number at present have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded, with many awards and accolades conferred upon, many having memberships of one or more Professional Societies and Committees, many with Doctoral degrees while others pursuing the same.

The faculty members of the Mechanical Department have always played an active role in coordinating, managing and organizing several College’s Programmes like Cultural Fests, Annual Sports Meets, Seminar, Workshops etc, motivating their students to excel in every possible fields and attain an all-round development.
